Our plan was to travel South America and to start with a crash course in Spanish. When we arrived in Quito, we have already sourced several schools, but the approach of Sintaxis was the most sympathetic – a small school with friendly people and of course with a good offer. The location is good and we had a excellent time on the rooftop terrace.
We popped in Enrique Guzman’s office one day and he gave us a good overview about the school. Several possibilities of classes, home stays, excursions and other activities like cooking, dancing.
We decided to do one-to-one classes for two weeks and started with tough 6 hours a day. It was amazing how quick we came forward and really learnt a lot. This thanks to the good teachers and due to the good atmosphere in and around the school.
The home stay with a lovely lady in a nice house gave us more insight and it allowed us to practice more and to learn about Ecuadorian family life.
After the two weeks we decided to go for another week. The whole school went to a town called Banos (nice volcanos, thermal springs) and we combined school and adventure outside of Quito.
In brief: We had an excellent time with nice people, improved our Spanish skills tremendously in a short time and all this for a very fair amount of money. We recommend Sintaxis to our friends who plan to learn Spanish! Hopefully one day we can go back for a refresher!
