I've stayed three months in Ecuador. To know more about the culture and to prevent myself from surprises I've studied Spanish for four weeks at Sintaxis. It is unbelievable how much you learn on a one to one basis.

Quito offers a lot in cultural and nightlife.

After my studies at Sintaxis I 've been travelling in Ecuador. I was really impressed by the jungle which offers all kind of things. I've seen a lot of medical plants which grow here, e.g. "el sangre de drago" which you can see on the top image. This is a resin. If you rub it to your body a white ointment apears to heal ijuries or diseases.

Close to the Anaconda island you will find a museum with all kind of traps which was used by local poeple to catch animals.

A little girl looks after his brother. Jungle families are very socialized. As the parents must usually work hard to feed the family the social aspect within the family is very important.

Other work at home and do some ceramic work to sale to in gift shops to the tourists.

Ecuador is a very fascinating country. I always had a secure impression and can recommend it to everybody who would like to know a new friendly culture. Furthermore I've met a lot of nice people and thanks to the language course I was able to participate actively on discussions.
